Booster update 11/5/2010

Hi Everyone,

Here are the latest updates regarding 6th Grade Activities:  All info will updated on the website as well.

T-Shirts:  Hopefully you have received the order form for the 6th Grade t-shirts that went out this week.  The cost is $5 per shirt.  There was also a list of student's name sent to each of the teachers to verify nicknames and spelling.  The order forms are due back on Nov. 10th.  Please make the check payable to Enders 6th Grade.  

 

 

 

Camp Sponsors letter: Did you know that you or your child can fill out a form to send out to potential sponsors and help cut the cost of camp?  You can send it out to relatives, friends, and businesses asking them to sponsor your child to camp.  It's really easy.  Once the school receives the funds, we will credit your child's camp cost account and the teacher will be notified.  We will also send home a thank you letter letting you know that your child has received funds for camp.  All donated funds must be received by Jan. 3rd.  Please see previous post for a copy of the letter to print out. 

Yeabook: If you have any photos that you would like to share and have added to the yearbook, we would love to include them.  If they are digital photos(jpg format), that will be helpful.  However if you have actual photos, we can scan the photos and return them back to you.  Be sure to label it with your child's name and room number on the back of the photo.  We will promptly return it to you right away.  We are also looking for Kindergarten student photos of each student.  Please be sure to label them the same way with the student's name and room number.

 

 

 

Next Fundraiser Event is Movie Night on Thurs. Dec. 2nd:  The movie will be Toy Story 3 !  The PTA will be hosting and we will be having a concession stand.  We will need students and parents volunteers for the event.  We will be selling hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and candy.  The shifts will be from 5:30-6:30, 6:30-7:30 and 7:30-8:30.  We are looking for 5 student volunteers and  4 parent volunteers per shift. Please reply back if you are interested in helping out.  Thank you for donating your time.

Fundraiser letter for Outdoor Science Camp

We have drafted a letter approved by the district and our principal Mrs. Spelber for students who are interested in finding sponsors and donations for camp.  We hope this will help ease the cost of camp.  Please read below for tips on sending out the letters.  A copy of the letter along with the instructions will be going home in your child's folder.

Enders 6^th Grade Class 2011

Students, PLEASE read all info. below…

·        This letter is to be used for you to raise money toward your $350 cost for the Outdoor Science Camp. All monies received in your name will be credited directly to you – 100%! 

·        Make extra copies or go online to print additional copies. Go to http://enders6thgradeclass2011.blogspot.com. 

·        Consider sending your letters to friends, neighbors, relatives-both local and out of the area, and even local businesses that you might have a relationship with -consider your doctor, dentist, physical therapist, vet.

·        Fill in the “DEAR”, “FROM” and “MESSAGE” portions complete with your FIRST & LAST NAME (example message – “Please consider supporting me and my fellow classmates this year.”

·        After completely filled out, fold with the address to contributor showing.

• You may want to put a return stamped envelope to make it easier for your friends and family to return them.

Booster update 9/17/10

THANK YOU  - THANK YOU - THANK YOU !!!

We would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all the parents who volunteered and donated items for the Back To School BBQ.  It was a success because of your generosity.  Thank you so much for coming in early to set up and staying longer than your shifts to help clean up. Our net profits for the BBQ was nearly $1000!  We are off to a great start. 

Our next fundraiser will be Thursday, December 2nd with Movie Night in the Multipurpose Room at Enders.  We do not have school the next day so it will be a fun event to let the kids stay up a little later on a weeknight watching a movie with their friends eating popcorn, candies and pizzas.  It was a huge success last year so we hope it will continue for us this year.  We are also trying to get other types of fundraiser started with different restaurants in the area so stay tune. 

The next booster meeting will be sometime in mid or late October.  We are hoping to spread the word to other 6th grade parents about the booster.  We want to inform everyone of our efforts and encourage more parents to come to the meeting.  Topics to cover in the next meeting will be Movie Night on 12/2, 6th Grade T-shirts, and yearbooks.
